This is the media page, and houses all our press clippings in some kind of bizarre archive...
Much as we'd like to be subversive music terrorists, flitting stealthily from gig to gig, the general public unaware of what we look like, we're shit at stuff like that. So, to save you the tedious trouble of hunting down our various appearances in the world of journalism, we've compiled all our clippings here!

'Blood$ells'
The Fox & Duck, Buntingford
May 27th 2000

To say that 'The Fox & Duck' is a small venue would be like saying George W.Bush is a bit thick. Once the band, one 'Blood$ells', have managed to squeeze their gargantuan guitarist Big Tel Morton on to the makeshift stage, the place looks like it's ready to explode. And to be honest, once they get going, it does. Reducing the walls to rubble with the resoundingly evil 'Hate Valve', Blood$ells exude the kind of raw, unadulterated passion that seems to be missing from today's so-called nu-metal scene. Working through a backlog of classics (so I'm told), such as 'Mixture of the Judgement', 'Three Fifty' and 'Behold My Facial Hair', Bloodsells appear to be rather good. They have a small but loyal following, and I feel rather left out when everybody else starts singing along to 'Meathound'. And when the band break into their finale, the distinctly retro 'If You Want To Live...Get Out' (which is really two songs), I feel as if I've stumbled on to something special in this unassuming location. Blood$ells, but let's hope they don't sell out.

Our first interview, conducted (unofficially) by The Sticks magazine:
Blood$ells interview. March 2001

1. What have you been up to then?
"Well, we've really just been getting our shit together. We toyed with the idea of getting a band together for a while now, so we thought it was time we saw it through. And then there's our website..."
2. Humour me, where's the name from?
"That was Ken's idea. It was a pun (obviously), and Darren came up with the dollar sign idea."
3. Do you have any heroes?
"Well, for a long time it was Metallica, because they seemed like the sort of tight-knit unit a band should be, but now that's looking a lot less valid."
4. Are you guys clever? Seriously?
"We all have skills that could come in handy, for instance, on tour. Ken could identify edible wildlife and recreate episodes of 'Bottom', Geoff could lecture us on bridge design and the economy, Tel could fix the bus and possibly add another engine, and Darren could IN DETAIL describe how quickly it takes for a stealth bomber to deliver it's payload."
5. What do you do, when you're not busy being rock-gods?
"Drink, either indoors or down the pub. We like watching films, even shit ones, and Darren likes doing 'stuff' on the internet."
6. Who do you REALLY hate?
"Amen. They seem to be all righteous and 'about the music', and because they slag off Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park, everybody likes them. But they're shit! We just don't understand it..."
7. In a fight between you lot and Amen then, who'd win?
"Well, they would, obviously. Before Ken got his hair cut, we would have got confused between him and Casey Chaos, Geoff would run off... Mind you, we have got Big Tel..."
8. What's the best thing about being *Blood$ells*?
"All our friends are really supportive about it, and it's good to get that kind of feedback off people you know. People compliment us on the website and our 'music', and that's really good."
9. What's the worst thing about being *Blood$ells*?
"Well, it's a lot of effort, and it's awkward to get everyone together at once as well. It all has to be planned, there's no spontaneity."
10. If you could do anything ELSE, what'd it be?
"I shudder to think..."
11. Plans for the future/blatant plugs/etc?
"A fat, juicy record contract wouldn't go amiss, and we definitely want to play some more live venues, assuming we can all make it of course."

A report in the West Midlands edition of The Metro
March 23rd 2001
Blood$ells to play at student unions across the country.

It's official. Blood$ells have begun what could prove to be their first major tour, and money spinner. The first gig has been confirmed at the University of Central England in Birmingham, where frontman Geoff Rodriguez studies Automotive Engineering.
"I'm on the student council," said Geoff, "and when the president called for new talent to come forward and perform at our club-house, Ansells, a light-bulb appeared above my head - so to speak, man." The gig at the Perry Barr campus, North Birmingham has been confirmed as "sometime in April". At the time of going to press, details are still a bit hazy, but judging by past dealings with Blood$ells, rest assured the band won't hesitate in releasing confirmation as and when they get it.
"If it's at all successful, we're hoping to tour several student unions, including my own at Anglia Polytechnic University, Cambridge," commented 'Dr.' Newstead. "Tel's really pleased as he'll have a bit further to drive, and Ken's not bothered as long as there's cheap beer at the end of the trip" added Dr. N. Ansells, at UCE, is an ideal venue, holding up to 500 people, but will it attract the right crowd?
"There's usually the same old shit played there, like R 'n' B and garage," barked Geoff, "but we hope to put an end to that." A close friend of the band has confirmed that the university's RockSoc president is "itching to hear them."
Whatever the outcome, it will prove to be an adventure for this fledgling band who are determined to be as successful as their peers.

A brief mention in Kerrang!:
21st March 2002

Unsigned metal act 'Blood$ells' have announced that their lead vocalist of 3 years, Geoff Rodriguez (real name Matthew Chapman) is leaving to form his own band. Geoff announced his departure at the end of their last gig in Cambridge. The band are said to be "very mature" about the whole thing, and wish Geoff the best of luck in his new project, prog-rock band 'The Warlocks'. Blood$ells say they already have a replacement lined up.
